Publication of the new edition of PPA-Europe’s EPDs
Since 2013, PPA-Europe owns collective Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for sandwich panels and profiled sheets produced by its member companies. These EPDs are being updated every five years. The latest update has recently been finalised and a new edition complying with EN 15804+A2 has been published by the EPD programme operator IBU in July 2024. EUROPEAN CONGRESS 2023 – PRESENTATIONS
This year's European Congress of PPA-Europe and IFBS took place on 26-27/10/2023. It has been a successful event with 110 participants. The speakers focused on sustainability aspects. The presentations are only available for the congress participants.

Publication of PPA-Europe’s Rules for Good Practice
The first edition of the European planning and installation guideline for wall cladding and roof covering work using sandwich panels has now been published. Double skin metal faced sandwich panels with an insulating core of polyurethane or mineral wool, with through-fixing or hidden fixing system, are covered by this guideline. Shortage of the MDI supply
MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) is produced in few large-scale plants in Europe, Nord-America and Asia. The companies BASF Polyurethane, BorsodChem / Wanhua, Covestro, DOW and Huntsman are producers of MDI. Several production facilities have encountered technical difficulties in the last months. According to an article of the expert information agency for the plastics industry “KunststoffWeb”, plants from Nord-America are currently experiencing delivery shortfalls as a result of force majeure. Metals Position Paper and Press Release on Circular Economy
The combined European metals industry looks forward to an ambitious Circular Economy Package supporting growth, innovation, competitiveness and jobs. Some challenges and opportunities to an improved circular management of metals are described in the common position paper "Boosting the circular management of metals". Seeking a better recognition of the role of metals in the context of the Circular Economy, the Association of European Producers of steel for packaging (APEAL), the European Steel Association (EUROFER), the European Association of Metals (Eurometaux), Metal Packaging Europe (MPE) and Metals for Buildings (MFB) have come up with a Joint Metals Press Release.
